Dog Strutting his/her dog Sweatshirt
Spring is in the air. Daylight savings time has happened and we have an extra hour of daylight in the evening. What a great time for you and your best friend to go out and get exercise, breathe the spring air, and meet new friends, both dog and human, and socialize with your neighbors.
Our country has an obesity problem, for both humans and pets. A good diet and exercise is the best way to lose those extra pounds and get in shape. Why not make it a dual affair. Take your dog for at least one walk a day, preferably two and watch both you and your pet shed those extra pounds that you put on at the holidays. You will both have much more energy for doing so. It is also a great time to strut your new spring fashions. Have you pet wear a dog sweatshirt on those chilly spring mornings.
Socialization and Your Puppy
Dogs are social beings just like us. Dogs go through stages of socialization. It is important that they learn how to deal with other people and dogs early so that they are not fearful of them and know how to react to them socially.
Just like human children, puppies have a formulative stage for socialization that is critical for their development. This occurs between the ages of 4 to 12 weeks. Studies have shown that puppies that were denied human contact during that time period were fearful of people and almost impossible to train. Puppies need to be picked up and exposed to movements, noises and smells of everyday human life. The breeder should make sure the puppy is exposed to a wide variety of domestic stimuli. Ideally the puppy should be handled by a range of different people.
When you bring your new puppy home, you will want to continue your puppy’s socialization. What better way to do this than to dress your puppy up in some cute dog clothes and take him for a walk. It is guaranteed that people will want to socialize with you and your puppy.
Dog Clothes are So Cute
Whenever I see a dog in a little jacket or scarf, I just melt. Dogs dressed like little people are my favorite thing. The best is when someone puts a hat on their pet and it bobs when they move. Isn’t that just divine? Dog sweatshirts help little and hairless dogs in the cold and they are just so darn adorable.
Yesterday I saw a bulldog wearing a poofy pink jacket with a golf cap like a sporty Jackie O. I thought it was so wonderful that this lovely lady put the time and effort into her dog that she does into herself. It is so endearing. I sat and chatted awhile with her and she was very interesting
